Thursday, The Journal

You have all done one of these before right?
A food journal
Feelings journal
Exercise journal

Whatever you want to call it. I put it all together in one thing. I like to have fun with it and make it include a lot of things, including doodles(mostly of body parts that hurt or people I saw during the day or items I want), quotes of the day, Things that made me mad...

Assignment:
Make a Journal!
1. Buy a cheap book (or expensive one if that floats your boat) I like to use those black and white ones we used in grade school.
2. Decorate it! However, Glue magazine cut outs one it, felt, paper, tissue paper, wrapping paper...who knows, return to childhood. Have fun.
3. Create yourself some kind of format. Mine is below.
4. In the back of the book create a reward page.
Example:
5 pounds = New Sweater
10 pounds = New Shoes
15 pounds = Manicure and Pedicure
20 Pounds = Cheesecake factory and slice of cheesecake!
Working out 3 times a week = A magazine subscription (hello they cost like 15$, and Real Simple I totally suggest, or Cooking Light).

You can see what I mean. I like to put all sorts of stuff in there. That I didn't eat any sweets for 3 days = a new paperback...god knows, whatever gets you excited!! Make a whole list of them and keep adding!

5. Write in the dang thing! You don't have to do it everyday. If you miss a couple don't give up. Just catch or just write "dang I missed you" like we did when we were little. As if the book is a friend!

I think it is just a way to keep you congnicent of your plans. And also a way to maybe write down some of your struggles, be honest with yourself and help you plan your way out!

My Journal Entries:

**Why do I do this?** To fit into my most favorite clothes --------------I change this everyday

The food:

L-Soup: rice, garlic, and sausage

Exercise: Not yet, only 2 weeks post op. I can't wait to take a walk though!

I also add things like:
To do lists for the week
Goal for the next day: Example:"Eat only Half" or "Abs before bed" or "Pack my lunch"
My complaints: Example: I ate too much at dinner, or I shouldn't have eaten the rolls
My Props: Example: I ate relatively low sugar, or a drank all my water
Something funny that happened today
I think I am this way because...
Aha moment (Thanks Oprah)- I KEEP MY HOUSE IN TIP TOP SHAPE, CLEAN, DECORATED WHAT ABOUT MY BODY? WHICH IS MORE IMPORTANT TO ME? WHY?

**What kinds of things are you going to put in your journal? Leave me a comment and let me know! We can share ideas!**
